Sorry to hear about your migraines.  I also suffer from frequent, severe headaches. 
According to the National Headache Organization (headache.org), ice and heat can be used to lessen the pain of headaches. In general, most sufferers with migraine headache prefer cold packs. Sufferers with tension-type or muscle contraction headaches may prefer warm packs.
My headaches come from muscle tightness and disc issues.  I find that using this cream, along with the stretches in the guide typically takes my headaches from a 7/8 down to a 2/3 in just a few minutes.
